Ask Your Pool Question?

Why is it So Important to Balance My Pool Water?

Question?

Q: Hello there. May I treat you to another question. I am a resident of this wonderful city. I have always taken care of cleaning my own pool, including adding chemicals to it. Recently some friends recommended that I should hire a professional for pool service, as they thought my pool water balance was a bit off. Why is so important to balance my pool water? That is what I needed to tell you.

See you around.

Robin Steere (Saint Petersburg Florida)

Answer!

A: Thanks for your inquiry. I am happy to tell you that your friends are correct. If your pool water is not balanced properly, there is a range of things that could go wrong. You are sure better off to avoid these issues.

It can lead to skin and eye irritation and to several types of disease.
Acidic water can harm the surface of the pool causing you to face very costly repairs.
Pump equipment, O-rings, seals, heaters and system in general can also be in for extensive replacement and or repair.

Let me give you a few examples, which are very typical for residential pool homes here in the south, and really true for all of the southern parts of the United States.

I hope this answer can help you make an educated decision about your pool care. Do not hesitate to write, if you have any more questions. That is my take.

Thanks again for your question.
