What is a Californian Style Acid Wash Treatment?
Question?
Q: Quality help needed. Someone told me about a Californian acid wash to get rid of my swimming pool stains. Can you tell me what that is and how to do it? I hope I am not adding to your homework.
Be good now.

Answer!
A:
Welcome and hello. A swimming pool Californian Acid Wash will only work on light stains or in scaling situations. If the heater has a copper core, then it must be isolated. We recommend that this treatment is only performed by swimming pool service professionals. However, if you are going to do it any ways, make sure the Chlorine level is of 1.0 before adding the acid, and add a metal sequester solution. Let the system run for 24 hours. After a whole day, add Sodium Bicarbonate 5 pounds at a time to accomplish an Alkalinity of 100 parts per million.
Chaulk up another one.
Thank you for relying on us.
