Why Do Pools Have Such a Strong Chlorine Odor?
Question?
Q: Good day. Please, could you help me out. I have a question about chlorine levels. My pool seems to have a strong scent. Over the years I have stayed at many of the hotels in Fort Myers Beach, Captiva, and Sanibel. Sometimes those pools are the same way. Why do pools have such a strong chlorine odor? That wraps it up.
Take care, thanks.

Answer!
A:
Very nice to hear from you. When you smell the strong odor of chlorine around the pool, it means something is wrong with your pool water. Around Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Southwest Florida, it is most likely either the pH is off target or harmful chemical build-ups are producing these odors. Start with a chemical analysis, using the clues gleamed from that to problem solve further as needed. We are glad to help.
Sure glad to help you out a little.
