Ask Your Pool Question?

Why is my Salt System Swimming Pool Smelling Like Chlorine?

Question?

Q: Good morning expert. I had to put one in. My salt swimming pool smells like chlorine. What do I have to do? In closing, this is my current problem.

Ending now, you are too kind. Love the good help.

Belinda Winston (Dunnellon Florida)

Answer!

A: Good day friend, ok we got it. We can help out on this. Check the Cyanuric Acid level. It should be between 40 and 60 parts per million. If Cyanuric Acid is lower than 35 - 40, the salt system does not stop producing chlorine. Balance your pH. Chlorine tends to smell when present in high levels, also when the pH is off. Fantastic, a correct way to try. Task complete.

All right now, everyone gets better with practice. Be good.
