What Kind of Damage Can Water Imbalance Cause on my Swimming Pool Heater?
Question?
Q: We are in need of some assistance. While reading my swimming pool heater paper work, I found some instructions about water chemistry. Is it necessary for me to worry about this? What kind of damage can improper water balance cause on my heater? I need a little attention.

A:
It is good to have you. First, you should find out what kind of swimming pool heater you have. If the heater is a Titanium core, the damage is less likely. For the copper core heaters is very important to maintain proper Alkalinity of more than 80 parts per million, and pH levels of between 7.2 and 7.6. Acidic water dissolves copper faster than you might think, also causing stains in your swimming pool finish.
Thank goodness for challenges.
Always be positive.
