Should I Raise My Swimming Pool's pH?
Question?
Q: Hope it is not to early for a question. Somebody explained this to me before, and I still do not get it. How should I treat the pH in my swimming pool? Is it important to increase it? That is the situation as I see it.
Much appreciated.

A:
Ok, that makes sense. Having the proper pH is very important for a complete pool water balance.
There are two ways to increase it; one of them is using soda ash. This is the one used when the alkalinity is already high. The other way is to add sodium bicarbonate, raising the pH and alkalinity at the same time.
Always remember to do a pool water test before adding any chemicals to your swimming pool. I am here to help with any pool questions you might have. That is sums it up.
I hope this answer can help you make an educated decisions moving forward.
