How Many Hours a Day Should My Pool System Run?
Question?
Q: Hi there. I am a little bit new to maintaining a pool, which has a built in spa. As part of the process of examining of ways to reduce my energy costs, I started thinking about the pool pump. It made me start thinking out my pool energy costs, specifically. I have lowered my hours to three hours a day, but am unclear if this is ok. That is the straight scoop.
Thanks so much for thoughts, opinions, or suggestions.

Sure thing, I understand. I respect your focus on reducing energy consumption. Your pool question is on what we like to call this "ORT" or "Optimum Running Time". Actually, finding your pool's ORT takes a bit of experimenting, and will normally change by month or season. We automatically adjust our clients Optimum Running Time, typically on a monthly basis. The pool's Optimum Running Time varies by weather conditions, pool pump circulation volume, debris received, and system vacuuming requirements. Three hours will most like not work here in here, or in location with a South Florida in general.
Good luck on your situation.
Sure hope my answer steered you toward results. If you have any more questions, do not hesitate to ask.
