How Often Should I Check My Swimming Pool Pump Basket?

Q: Any thoughts or opinions. I have an open backyard swimming pool. The trees in the surrounding area are the messy type, and they are dumping stuff in the pool all the time. However, the water remains decently clean. The skimmer picks up all kinds of debris, and I was wondering how often do I have to clean my pump basket? Trying to make sense, hopefully so.

We should be some help here. Given your particular conditions, the best approach is to clean the pump basket as often as your time allows. It only takes 1 minute. Most swimming pool pumps out there have a see-through pump lid. You can keep an eye on it. This will extend the life of your swimming pool pump.
