Answer!
A:
Good one. The term "acid rain" is a precipitation that has a pH of 5.5 or lower. Man-made sources, such as vehicle and industry emissions, cause most acid rain formations.
The rest of the time natural causes are the creators of acid rain. For example, forest fires, and lightening. These emissions form sulfuric acid and nitric acid when exposed to moisture and sunlight and fall as acid rain.
The best ways you can tell if the rain is acidic are by doing water pH and alkalinity tests. You should check your alkalinity often nevertheless, and correct by adding sodium bicarbonate when the reading is lower than 80 ppm (parts per million).
A responsible attitude towards your proper pool water balance is the best way to protect your investment from staining and other problems caused by acidic water. It is a pleasure to help you out.
Bye now, you certainly take care.
